Reopening of Kids Nurseries in Dubai With Precautionary Measures Amid COVID-19

Following the recent go-ahead from the government to reopen the schools, Mosaic Nursery JLT campus is all set to safely welcome kids in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak. Below is the plan of all the safety measures to reduce the spread of coronavirus.

Mask is mandatory:

All the children, staff, and parents have to wear masks to reduce the spread of the virus. Kids need to wear a comfortable cloth mask with elastic ties as they are easily washable and easy to adjust compared to surgical masks which are irritating and more likely to slip down. Babies under two years will not wear a mask as there is a danger of suffocation, we will ensure them to sit separately and maintain a distance.

Hand wash and usage of hand-sanitizers:

Health and hygiene have always been on the priority of Mosaic Nursery, JLT. The kids are asked to wash hands with soap and water for 20 seconds especially before and after mealtime. There is a big poster in each washroom that describes the hand washing steps.

During this pandemic, all the kids and staff members have to wash their hands after arriving at the preschool. We have placed hand-sanitizers everywhere. Kids will be asked to sanitize their hands several times a day under the supervision of teachers to reduce the spread of germs.

Cleaning and Sterilization:

Proper cleaning and sterilization are clearly the most important factors to prevent this infectious disease. Therefore, we will ensure all the classrooms, bathrooms, reception and common areas will be properly cleaned by using soap/ detergent and water. To ensure your child’s health and to lower the risk of spreading infections, everything will then be properly sterilized by using chemicals.

The surface and objects that are touched often will be thoroughly sanitized or disinfected every day. This includes sanitization of toys, chairs, doorknob, play areas, hands-on learning items, desk, faucet handles, diaper changing stations, etc.

It is our regular practice to clean and sanitize all the toys before giving it to kids, we don’t use toys that cannot be easily cleaned. During this situation, the kids will not be sharing toys until they are washed or sanitized.

Stay at home when sick:

Kids who are sick or have any symptoms of COVID-19 should not attend school. Teachers at Mosaic Nursery in Dubai, are strictly instructed to monitor each student in their classroom for signs of infectious illness. The symptoms include Fever or chills, cough, breathing difficulty, tiredness, muscle or body pain, headache, loss of smell or taste, pain in throat, runny nose, vomiting, diarrhea, etc. Mosaic Nursery is also offering virtual learning opportunities for sick kids.

Temperature check upon arrival:

When arriving at the preschool, the temperature of all the staff members and kids will be checked through a digital thermometer which will be cleaned and disinfected. Persons having a fever of 100.4 Fahrenheit or above will not be allowed in the school premises and will be sent back home.

Isolation Area:

If we will find any child sick during a day, he will immediately be isolated in a separate area from good children until their parents come to pick them up.

The isolation room will then be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected to avoid transmission of disease.

Avoid touching:

The kids will be given basic training on the first day of reopening like not to touch their eyes, nose, mouth, hug, handshake, etc.

Maintain Social distancing:

To maintain social distancing, Mosaic Nursery, JLT has reorganized each classroom to accommodate only 10 children in each class. The kids will maintain a distance of at least 1.5 meters from other children and teachers. As younger kids need more care, therefore only eight kids will stay in each class. Each class will include the same group of children and same teacher each day.

Diapering infants and Toddlers:

Mosaic Nursery is an amazing Early Year’s child care provider in Jumeirah Lakes Towers, that provides high-quality education and care for kids aged 18 months up to 4 years. The infant and toddlers need a lot of care, especially during this pandemic to avoid the spread of this deadly virus. While diapering, the caregivers are instructed to wash their hands and child’s hands before changing the diaper. Then wear gloves. After changing, throw the diaper, gloves, and wipes in trash. Clean the station and wash your hands again.

Parent’s support:

Mosaic Nursery always encourages parent’s involvement in the well-being of their children. Parents should check their child’s temperature before sending them to school. Also confirm they don’t have any kind of illness like cough, cold, breathing issues, fever, etc.

Pick and Drop procedure:

We would appreciate if same parent can provide pick and drop every day during this situation and maintain social distancing. Grandparents and sick people should avoid coming to school to pick and drop their kids.

Negative test reports needed:

We have ensured that all the teachers, administrative staff, drivers and security staff members have negative test reports of COVID-19. In order to maintain a healthy and safe environment, we won’t allow anyone to enter the school premises without a valid maximum 96 hours COVID-19 negative test result. Therefore, parents need to present a negative test report when visiting Mosaic Nursery. We would really appreciate your support.
